Question Skipping at end of recording

The last couple of recordings I have watched have displayed some very odd symptoms.
I recorded a show that was 2.5 hours long, and it was set to record an extra 10 minutes (in the Series settings).
As I watch the show, and fast forward through the adverts, you can see (after about an hour and a half or so), that the progress bar on screen shows that I am almost at the end of my 2.5 hour show. Then, when it gets to the 2.5 hour mark, it starts skipping to catch it self up. And then I see the last hour in about 30 seconds. This has only started happening in the last couple of days, and I have not changed the drivers for my tuner card, changed my Sage Install, I haven't even installed any windows updates and rebooted.
I'm about to do a disk check after posting this (requires a reboot as the drive is in use ), but I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and if they had any results in troubleshooting it.

I am running SageTV 5.0.4.92, with a Hauppauge PVR 150.

Thanks

Aha, apparently a) no one else has, and b) I'm an idiot.
I have diskeeper installed, and it was running around the same time my recordings were ending (i.e. the last hour or so).
So defragging while recording = bad mmkay?
