Hardware Upgrade and Recordings
I'm going replace one of my drives in the server with a much bigger one, and also plan to retire an external drive.
I currently have like thirty shows on that external drive. Is there any way that I can move them - can I somehow avoid having to import them? |

There is more in the FAQs, but that post probably gets confusing.
After adding the new drive, configure SageTV to use what I figure will be a new recording dir. Shut down SageTV, including the service, and make a copy of wiz.bin somewhere else. Move the recordings from the external drive to the new drive. Either delete the recordings from the external drive, or just rename the recording dir there, but leave it connected. Start SageTV. It should then be able to see that the recordings are no longer in their old location & allow them to be seen in the new location. If the old drive is not visible, it will ignore their new locations. After you've confirmed that SageTV sees them in their new location, you can get rid of the external recording dir & drive. If the process fails for some reason, you've got your old wiz.bin to fall back to. - Andy

Thanks.
Did as suggested, but the server would not list the files, so I put them in one of the import directories and imported - all files went into the archive - most of them actually had been there before |
