Best Drivers/Decoders/Utilities for use with SageTV

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this. If not, I apologize and request (read beg and plead) that Opus4 move this thread to the correct location. Thanks.

After asking a few questions about drivers and seeing some others posted, I started to think that a unified thread to discuss the currently accepted 'best' versions of external drivers/codecs/software for use with SageTV might be worthwhile. Maybe the first post could have links that would be updated on a somewhat regular basis. Kind of like this:

Java

v1.4.2_12

Video Drivers

Nvidia Forceware Drivers

WHQL Driver v91.47

ATI Catalyst Drivers

TBA

Drivers for Most Popular Capture Cards

Hauppauge pvr150/500 Drivers

Driver v24103

Decoders

Nvidia Purevideo

v1.02-223

OEM v1.02-223

Other Utilities

TBA

------------------------
If anyone thinks this is a good idea, maybe we can build out the list. If not we can just let this thread fade away into obscurity. Remember, these should be what are considered the best, not necessarily the latest.

Aloha,
Mike

If you want other people to be able to add to & maintain the list, this might be a good thing for the wiki, then just have a link going to the page on that site. (I'm not saying you can't discuss & list things here, of course!)

Ah, good idea. Thanks Andy. I'll look into that.
