Sagetv and Tivo

I got a used Tivo series 2 at a garage sale for $5.
It works, but is not activated.
Does anyone know if Tivo and Sage can interact in any way...share files over a network...photos, music, etc?

And does Tivo have anything like Placeshifter for remote scheduling?

just askin' cause for $5, it could be a useful tool.

thanks

I believe TiVos are capable of playing back standard mpeg2 files from a computer, but it's not going to interact with Sage. About the most you could do is playback the Sage recordings on a TiVo through it's software.

There have been a couple of projects trying to get a web browser going on TiVo. It might be possible to control Sage with the webserver, but I've never heard of anyone doing it. TiVos run linux, but have very little ram so it's hard to do much with them.
