Workaround for 1080i interlacing artifacts?

I'm using a firwire HD setup. On network channels that broadcast in 1080i, I get noticeable de-interlacing artifacts on fast action shows like sports (jagged lines, looks like you're seeing the interlaced frames seperately). Example, right now college football is on NBC and ABC, the ABC broadcast looks perfect, but the NBC broadcast seems like the framerate is slower than live TV should be and the artifacts I was describing above. Is there any workaround for this?

Details of my setup:
6600GT, latest drivers
NVDVD decoder (Sage using NVDVD, NOT Nvidia Post Processor), VMR9
Nvidia Post Processor set to use hardware accel, automatic deinterlacing
AMD 3200+
Moto 62xx (can't remember, but whatever, it works
TV is a 720p LCD using DVI input (1280x720 native)
