Benefit of adding a card to firewire setup?

First, thanks to everyone that put in the hard work of making firewire recording with Sage possible. I picked up a Motorola 6500 from the cable company and had it working in a day.

With that aside... I haven't bought a PVR card yet but had the Dvico Fusion5 RT in mind before finding out that firewire recording works so well. Would there be any benefit to adding a card right now? Would I be able to offload the Mpeg2 encoding/decoding to the card or would it only be good for capturing 5c flagged HD material via s-video?

Right now I get about 13-18% usage on both cores during HD encoding and playback.

Capture server:

Athlon64 X2 3800 (clocked to 2.5Ghz)
2Gb OCZ PC4000
Asus A8N-SLI Premium
Creative X-Fi Platinum
EVGA 7800GT CO
