Switching between two "live" programs...
Hello. If I am recording two programs at once, and switch between them, it doesn't resume playback from when I switched channels, it goes back to "live" tv. Is there a way to have it resume playback from the point that the channel was switched?
edit: I am using basically a stock configuration, latest release, default stv. Last edited by AngelofDeth; 09-05-2006 at 11:59 PM. |

nobody? Can anyone tell me if this is just the way the MVP currently is? Somebody must have two encoders using an MVP and occasionally switch between live programs.... It works fine on a PC using sage client, so I guess ill just hope this is fixed in 5.1...

I've asked about this in the past and it seems "this is just the way it is." It happens whenever you stop watching a show that is still recording and then come back to it again.
It bothers me a lot but I'm not sure it is on the radar screen for Sage. Hope I'm wrong....

I believe when you start watching a recording in progress with a client it starts with live TV and you must press RW once to jump to the beginning of the recording (or your previous position in the recording). I know Sage does this, but am not sure if it's been fixed yet because I'm not using the very latest version. I know it was supposed to be fixed in the next release, just not sure which release that was.
I don't know if this will affect the MVP or not though. |

Actually, when I first tune to either station that is recording live, it starts at the beginning. Its when you change the channel that the problem is. And if the program ends (not recording any longer), it works fine switching between them. Sure hope this is being looked at, or already fixed for 5.1...

Well I've seen it jump to the end of the recording quite often when starting to view a recording in progress for the first time. The problem was discussed here. The difference is you say it doesn't happen on the PC client, but it does for myself and others. So unless there has been another release since that post the problem still exists and isn't MVP specific. It was said to be fixed for the next release, so if there has been one since then it should be fixed and the problem you're having on the MVP is a seperate issue. If not then what you're seeing may be the same problem or a related one and may already be fixed in 5.1. Either way you can try pressing the RW button as soon as you change the channel to see if it will jump back to the previous watched position like it does for the PC client.

Thanks for the link. That is describing the current release I think, so hopefully it is fixed in 5.1. I didnt do a lot of testing with Sage on a PC, as I don't use it. Weird that it works when its not for others, maybe I should do some more testing on the PC.
