Using a drive for playback only

Hi all,

I have moved some recording to a secondary "arciving" drive and wish to have SageTV use this new drive to play these recoding and not record anying new on the archiving drive. It looks like I can set the amount of drive space Sagetv can use per drive but if I set the arciving drive to zero will Sagetv remove my arcivied recording? Is there a perferred way to to do this? Thanks

You could have created a folder in the drive and set it up as an Import folder in Sage.

Imported videos will not keep program information, I don't think. I would think the way he wants to do it will work, as Sage is not supposed to ever deleted "archived" programs...

Imported videos will keep the information. You simply add the import folder to Sage. Shutdown Sage move your files over and they will show up with all the information as archived.
