Client connection issue
I just redid all my systems and bought new networking hardware. I have a linksys router and a gigabit switch which wires my whole house. My SageTV Server is located on the switch. 2 of my clients are also on the switch and connect fine. The third is located on the router and will not connect to the server. This is not a license problem because if I run a seperate line straight to the switch it conects fine. Just will not connect when connected to the router and server connected to the switch. All PCs can share files between them just fine and connection to internet is fine also. I use Static IP addresses and everything else is XP defaulted.
The problem is that I recently finished my basement and can not easily rewire it this particular client to go to the switch and I remember having this problem with my old router and can't remember how exactly I fixed it. Can anybody tell me what I might try? Port foward something, network setting, anything?

How's the switch connected to the router?

cable modem to WAN uplink on Linksys router with a network printer, cable to the 5 Port Gigabit switch, 1 network camera and the upstairs living room PC(PC that can't connect) rounding out the 4 Ports.
The cable to the Gigabit switch from the router is on Port 1. Port 1 does not say uplink or anything else but the port is seperated from the other 4 Ports so I figure it must be the Uplink port if indeed it has or needs an Uplink Port. The Switch has 4 other Ports, one connects to the Sage Server in Downstairs Family room, Downstairs bedroom and two upstairs bedrooms. All the other connections are fine. I can connect to all PCs using PCAnywhere, Network shares, Print from all PCs. The only thing I can not seem to do is connect any PCs to Sage when hooked up to the router while Sage Server is on the switch. No firewall or Antivirus software is running and the SageTV Server is the DMZ on the router.
