Please help with SMK IR blaster
PLease help with SMK IR blaster
Ok... I screwed up, I didn't read the fine print before I downloaded the Sagetv trial and bought my tuner card. Turns out the pvr-150-MCE card is not the preferred card. The preffered card appears to be the pvr-150 with the ir port on the card itself. Anyway, I have spent all of yesterday evening and late night trying to get my SMK blaster to output to my Motorola 6200 to no avail. I have pulled out all of my non-existant hair! I have tried to follow the multiple tutorials on using EXETunerPlugin and HIP or Girder. I have successfully gotten Sagetv to give me the EXETuner option for my video device, however, it never created the registry entry that one tutorial suggested it should create. I have also tried following the Girder tutorial, however, the tutorial was obviosuly written utilizing a much older version of Girder and therefore the new version does not *APPEAR* to have the same settings available and the GUI is completely different. Currently I have Sagetv set to utilize a MCE remote and I can control SAGEtv with my MCE v2 remote. I have successfully used either the default irbus.sys and the custom mceir.sys drivers for the remote as well. When I press channel up, nothing, NOTHING lights up on the blasters lead, but it tries to change the channel on the Sagetv side. PLEASE HELP! JAmes |

In the same boat
I have a PVR-USB2 with that SMK blaster. I don't think the bud actually "blinks" red. I can't get it to do anything either.

As far as I know Sage does NOT support the SMK IR blaster. Use another program like maybe Girder or HIP. Not sure if those programs support it either. If not purchase a USB-UIRT. Sage DOES support that.

It does blink...
...forget what I said earlier, it does blink red but you have to use the port labelled "2". Unfortunately, neither HIP nor Girder seem to be able to transmit the correct signal to change the station on my STB. Looks like the UIRT is the way to go.
