MediaMVP won't connect anymore

Last night all clients froze all of a sudden.

After restarting the clients those were able to connect again and are just fine, but the Extender continues to go black after 'Starting Application..'

Since then, I have restarted the sage server, de-powered the extender several times, re-registered the extender license, but no change.

I have been using the extender without any problem for more than a year now..

The extender is wired, Sage is running as a service (always has).

Anything else I can do?

Try removing the properties files in the 'clients' subdirectory in your SageTV dir (or rename the 'clients' subdir to remove those properties files from view) & then do another full power cycle on your MVP to see what happens.

You've double checked that the Media Extender Server option is still enabled in Detailed Setup -> Advanced?

Thanks, Opus4.

The server is enabled.
I have renamed the clients dir, re-powered the extender (pulled the plug). No luck.

Occassionally I have been using the mini client on my iMac - which informed me Yesterday (or the day before that) that the 15 day trial was over - could this have caused the problem?

However, the sage server, the mac etc - all have been shut down since?

Any other idea?

I had the same problem last week. I was only able to recover by restoring a backup of my SageTV directory from a couple of days earlier, when I knew everything was still working. I haven't had the time yet to do a file compare to see what file got corrupted. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

BTW, deleting the properties file didn't work for me either.

This would be normal if you try to use more placeshifter/extender clients at the same time than you have licenses for.

So, for example: if you had a single extender license & the MVP was in use, then when you tried to connect with the Placeshifter, it would say that it is in trial mode or that the trial period is over, depending on whether you are still in the trial period.

Thanks to Sage support my issue has been resolved. In my case loading a new mvp.bin did the trick.
