DVR use affects political ads (news story)

I thought this was an interesting article:

DVRs help voters avoid campaign ads

I'll have to say that recording shows has certainly helped make TV more enjoyable during politician season, even back when I used VCRs.

Now if we could just get them (those #^@# politicians) to "fix" the Do Not Call regulations to get rid of the exemptions for political and non-profit harrassment calls.
I've been on the Do Not Call list (both federal and the State of Ct has one of its own) since they began and for the most part they work great. But during this latest primary here in CT I would get 1-5 political recordings PER DAY!

I know there's no chance in heck of them doing that since they somehow perceive it benefits them the way it is now.
I got to the point this time around that if perchance there was a live voice on the other end I told them that I'd vote for the first candidate that would gaurantee they'd fight to get the regulations fixed to eliminate the type of call I just answered.

The REALLY sad part about it is I'm registered as an independant so I couldn't vote for or against any of the candidates that were harassing me anyway.

My father works for a radio research firm, and the political season is christmas for small radio stations, because of all the cash they get from political parties and pac's to run ads.

OK.. when are we getting SageRadio??? Dual tuner with HD-radio support, DVD-Audio, and 400GB hdd.
