Only HD recordings playing slow...why?

I have a sage 5 server that has 2 HD OTA tuners (1 pci fusion 5 lite & USB fusion 5), Dual nvidia analog tuner

I have a client Sage 5 that can play any analog recording just fine. But if I play an HD recording on the client, it play a little slow, the audio seems fine. If I play the HD recording on the server, it plays fine.

Any thoughts?

Either:

1) You do not have enough network bandwidth to stream HD from your server. (I think you need about 19Mbps (effective) for 1080i streaming which is what 802.11g barely provides in an almost perfect environment)
a) are you using wireless?
b) are you using any firewall software on the server?

2) You do not have enough processing power (cpu/video) on your client machine to handle the playback with your current decoder settings.
a) what are the specs of your machine? cpu/mem/video
b) what decoder are you using on the client?

My network is running gig. I connect to the share where the recording are stored and played the HD recordings with media player and it played fine. So network and CPU looks to be fine. It's something with a setting in sage I think, but I have no clue what it could me.

client: AMD 3500+ 64, windows xp pro. Nvidia pure video

MCE never had a problem with HD

Thanks

There are a couple other threads running around that talk about stuttering with HD playback. This might be the same issue you're having. http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...ght=stuttering

What kind of video card do you have on the client?

What are your current settings on the sage client?

Such as, are you running VMR9 or Overlay? What decoder are you using? Do you have FSE enabled? Is hardware acceleration enabled?

If you're using VMR you'll need FSE enabled in order to get smooth playback at 1080i with the 6600GT. Also you should be using the PureVideo decoder IMO to take advantage of all the abilities of your video card.
