Motorola QIP2500-2 receivers - auto power-on
I have two Motorola QIP2500-2 receivers from Verizon for my FIOS TV service. I noticed after the last power outage that these boxes do not auto power-on after a blackout. Of course I discovered this because there was a blackout while I was out of town and when I came back I realized that nothing had recorded for the last 2 days!
Does anyoen know of a way to get these devices to auto power-on after losing power? Any 3rd-party solutions? I can try a UPS but I doubt it will keep them running for more than a short time. Thanks.

Wish I knew that too, because if they do an update to the firmware in the boxes, they also do not auto power-on.
The bad thing, is since the device has the same command used for on/off, you can't just send the on command before every recording, or you might be turning it off.
