Unfortunately this more than interesting thread is lost now. Sorry to the interested community, also to the SageTV community. This didn't happen in the team's spirit.

One word to the SageTV community: I've never seen such nice reactions on started flaming against another HTPC community. All my respect to you! Let's keep this nice tone, you impressed me quite a lot!
Vanessa deleted the inital post due to the "extreme" reactions.

Oh.... and:

Yes, I also found it quite interesting and remarkable that nobody over there found it necessary to directly respond or at least acknowledge any of the posts of Jason, Mike, or evilpenguin. I couldn't envision something like that here in the forums ...

I did

Happy HTPC-ing to you all!

The things going on in that thread were quick to blame. I even felt the anger that Vanessa might have felt. I, too didn't think of all the facts and the simple solution of just asking beforehand.

I was very impressed by the quick response by the Sage members; very professional and courteous.

I'm glad things have been worked out and we are all moving on!

Thanks again Sage members!

3DMP Update

It looks like we will not be getting approval by Vanessa for the use of her work on/in our skin for use with SageTV.

I sent a PM a few days ago, but have yet to hear a response... I am assuming this is a "No...".

I could be taking that out of context but it appears that Vanessa is no longer posting in general... including posting updates on the progress of 3DMP...

If you read the way that mPod talked about her you'd probably understand why. Look at the first lin of the quote at the top of this page which was extracted from their forum. I wouldn't help them with their designs anymore either - maybe she'll come over here and start making some STVs for us!

Opus/Nielm-

Can you do us all a favor ( ) and remove the links to both the Razor and 3DMP skins from the download sections both here and at the sage-community site?

I still have not had any sort of reply from Vanessa... ... not a 'no'... not a 'yes'... nothing.

Wow--i don't think this was ever the intention to begin with but it looks like things turned pretty bad real quickly over there...

From the link JUC posted above.

The Team can not tolerate that one Team Member is:
...
posting copyright protected material multiple times (which would have been added to SVN with the final version of 3DMP)
This means risking the existence of the whole project.
...
using parts of other member’s artwork and taking all the credit for it
Whoa....Now I think I know why she got so mad at us...I think it's called transference. Or maybe just the pot calling the kettle.....

Aloha,
Mike
