I'll let you know when there is news to give out.

(Well, the news may not come from me, but you get the idea...)

It taste like Beta 5.1. Maybe I should stir the pot.

Hope soon...I think last week's estimate of "Early next week" has now come and gone. I'm not sure why at least the feature set couldn't be released...the fact that they don't makes me nervous. If they are still figuring out whether a feature is ready to be included it may be a while...

It's extremely rare to get a 'feature set' out of the Sage devs. I wouldn't worry about that at all.

It is EASY to figure out what they are waiting for....they HAVE to be working on a fix for the MVP wireless. They keep on selling them (possibley unethically), when the VAST majority (see MVP poll in hardware section) can't get them to work with Sage software.

Can you say "LIABILITY" or other ugly words that start with "L"?

The heat is on, and I do hope that they find the fix.

There is no credible way that you can make that assumption. Most of the people who post to forums do so BECAUSE something doesn't work.

Most of us generally don't post if things work.

Yeah, agreed. I've been a member of the forums for quite some time and read them few times every day, cant remember the last time I didnt read them at least 2 times a day. I have a very low post count because I've only had one real probelm of all my time using Sage and it was resolved by searching the forums.

The latest news

How's the old saying go? Oh yeah: I have some good news and bad news...

The good part is that some very important fixes were made for things the private testing group has found. This should help make things more stable for everyone else. (It still worked quite well for most people, including me, but the people affected wouldn't have liked some of the results.) Plus, several other tweaks and improvements were made.

The downside is that this means that those fixed issues will be tested a bit more before releasing it into the wild.

I keep saying that the public beta will be 'soon', or 'next week', so I'm going to try a different tack this time and try just the opposite by saying that the v5.1 beta won't out be soon & I have no idea when it will be out, if ever. There. Now maybe the opposite will happen & I'll be wrong again. Unless it can read between the lines and still foil my reverse psychology...

That's great news, Andy! I hope the v5.1 beta never comes out! Thanks!

Lets hope there are no Klingons on the dev team. We all know that Klingon software never gets released. It escapes, leaving a bloody trail of developers and QA folk.

I guess we better start a new user community called SageOS, since we will never get another update.

I sure hope we dont get 5.1, because I dont want any new features, especially if it were to include native H264 support. Its a worthless venture to have that, and will save me weeks of frustration by not getting something new to play with.

I could jinx that one forever and just say "maybe next week" ... now you'll never see that one either.

Fair enough......You are right.

Question for you. Do you have a wireless MVP..... and does it work?

I think it is good that Sage doesn't release the beta to the public until it is rather stable. After reading many of the complaints during the last beta phase, with people complaining that there were bugs (yes I know: beta! But I wasn't complaining) I can understand why Sage is doing the testing now. I think the problem is that it is rather hard to test a beta of sage without "risking" the normal system, or do you all have a second development mashine with capture card, mvp and clients connected? Me neither. Therefor a bug will be interfering with the normal system.
On the other hand, I enjoyed playing with new features and looking for things not working. Having at least a backup handy...

So what I am saying is:
Don't release the beta to the public until it is tested that there are no showstoppers left, for nobody.

But please send me a link to the beta now, because I won't complain ;-)

Marneb
