Chronic "spinning cursor" hang using the media player

Using the older version of Java Sage is shipping with.

Will I ever stop having issues with this program?

Wife likes to play her MP3's...works for a minute, maybe an hour, maybe all day, but always ends up the same way:

Endlessly spinning SAGE cursor. Task Manager does not indicate "not responding" but you could wait until 2078 and Sage woukld just think, and think, and think, and think....

Have to End Task and restart to use again.

Last night was stuck in media player. Hit Live TV and visualizations comes on the screen.

What's the deal with this thing? Anyone know?

Have you looked at your debug logs? They might provide a clue as to what's going on.

If you don't have debug logging enabled, you can enable it by setting debug_logging=TRUE in your .properties file(s).

I'd try different audio codecs.

Well, niether worked. Still get hangs, especially when set to "shuffle"

Now I get "error rendering the VIDEO portion of the file for playback"!!!!!!

I have run into this problem when two computers on my network have the same IP address. Very long delays whenever opening new media (MP3, video, whatever), occasional drops to the "lost connection" screen. Very frustrating.
