Cool! Fujitsu tablet PC as remote w/SageTV Webserver

Check it out - I've got a Fujitsu 3400 tablet pc with a 10" screen and a wifi card in it that is now down to $160 on eBay.

I just finished up configuring both the sagetv webserver plugin and CQC so that I can use:
1) A CQC-wrapper to directly control the hardware over RS232[denon 3805receiver/thermostat outside our front door/show weather], and
2) A SageTV web browser on the inner part of the screen to kick off a TV show on a SageTVClient sitting on another PC, hooked up to a TV. Plus, as CQC has a Sage driver, I can do the play/pause/skip/etc thing too, right on the 3400 screen.

As soon as i can figure out why my office PC doesn't want to let my bedroom TV be a 2ndary monitor, i'll be able to install SageTV on that office PC [75' away through many walls], and leverage it while it's not in use to be a TV/DVD renderer for my MBR & Kitchen. This means I don't even need an extender in the MBR, just grab the 3400 and take to whatever room I want.

Cool stuff...

Very Cool IVB. I've been thinking about getting one os those tablets for a while now.

I'm working on building a Sage system that I want to use in the office as a computer for email, etc and then also output Sage to the TV in the living room. Sounds just like what you are working on. I've search for tips on the forum, but I wasn't able to come up with anything. I'm intrested to hear for it works for you. Ideally, I would like to get FSE working on it, but we'll see.

btw, i've been playing with trying to get SageTV PlaceShifter to run on it. It works ok if I do -framedrop, but it looks a bit funky.

i'm going to read up on the placeshifter manual to see how to crank down the bitrate so I don't need to -framedrop.

A wallmounted but wifi/removable 10" remote control/TV for $160 is certainly compelling!

I'll post back when it works fine.
