Choosing Video Source

I have setup 2 video sources on my system and now I can't figure out how to switch between the two from within Sage. When I click "Watch Live TV" it seems to default to the first source. How do I switch between the two?

Thank you.

Justin

Basically, you don't. All your sources should show up in the EPG. When you pick a channel you want to watch/record, Sage will pick a source that has that channel. If you pick a second channel that is not on the current source, Sage will swtich to the second source if it is available.

Now, if you would prefer the second source to the the "preferred source" you may be able to change the "encoder_merit" in sage.properties and have Sage default to the secound source.

Thank you for the explanation ke6guj. One more question on this. If both sources have the same EPG and one source is being recorded will Sage be smart enough to pick the source that isn't recording? ie: not stop the recording because I change the channel?

Thank you.

If you've setup a recording Sage will use the other tuner. If you have nothing set to record and are just watching live TV I'm not sure if Sage will use another tuner if you simply change channels.

For live TV in this situation w/the same channels available on both tuners, it will continue using the same tuner when you switch channels. Ther is no reason for it to continue recording a live TV show when you flip channels, unless you've set it to be a manual recording via the Record command.
