Sound Failed to Record

I just recorded 6 tv shows in a row (each 30 minutes) on one channel
About an hour later I went to watch them, but the sound failed to record
I just upgraded to the latest version, and have never had a problem before
I went into live tv and there is sound, but the recordings have no sound
I also tried playing the recordings in media player, and there is still no sound
Basically, for some reason, sound works in sagetv, and yet it failed to record it
I'm beginning to get extremely frustrated with sagetv, due to its complete instability... it crashes quite often, i sometimes set things to record and come home and sagetv has managed to close itself and the program didn't record, and every time I've upgraded, it has messed up the entire system.
I have a pretty basic system, a single tuner, no HD, just Meekels STV

Sorry to complain, but I really want this to start working again...
and I don't want to have to downgrade back to version 4 (even though, I can't see any difference between 4 & 5 other than that 5 doesn't work)

What version of java are you using? Many people are running 1.4xx (don't recall the exact numbers) because anything 1.5xx is very buggy and causes all sorts of odd problems.

What chipset are you running? Via, Sis, and Ali all tend to have a lot of problems with capture cards.

Also if you run Sage as a service you can have it automatically restart if it crashes.
