Rename encoders / tuners?

Is there still no way to rename your tuners ? I've got 2 pvr-500's...2 tuners (pvr #1)are for dtv and the other 2 tuners (pvr #2) are for cable, it gets confusing sometimes when looking at it. Tuner 1 & 3 are dtv and 2 & 4 are cable or visa versa, i can never remember

Yea, i've tried that.... Thats only for the Parallel recording schedule... I'd like to see in detailed setup what tuner, if it were dtv or cable(custom name), was recording a show, or if i went into detailed info for a recording I'd easily see what encoder recorded that show

I could look at making the name available in more menus but I am currently occupied with another plugin so don't expect it soon.

You can change it in the registry... There was an thread about that.. I can't seem to find it now....

Anyway Edit the registry at your own risk....

but you can search for the current name of your tuner..
It may come up several times.. you want to edit the FriendlyName key under the CurrentControlSet.

I wish I could remember where I saw this...

Any like I said... Edit the registry at your own risk!

But it worked for me... You'll have to restart Sage everytime you Change it...

Since I had 3 USB tuners..and I've plugged them in about every slot.. I had about 6 instances.. I had to hunt around to figure out which was which because there were registry entries for each slot that I plugged them in.. It took a little trial and error... I but I got them all renamed..

Oh.. and EDIT THE REGISTRY AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Jim
EDIT: And I think you'll have to reconfigure the tuner in Sage each time you rename it??? I can't remember now....
