Scheduled Recordings and Favorites Gone

Running SageTV 5.0.1.89 Client with SageTV 5.0.1.89 Media Center. My favorites are still around but there are no scheduled recordings. When I select an arbitrary program to record it still doesn't show up. I deleted the wiz.bin file and replaced it with wiz.bak, no go. I deleted wiz.bin again and rebuilt it, still no go.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,

John

Are you using any customizations?

Check Setup -> Setup Video Sources to see whether your tuners are still configured.

Go to the Recording Schedule screen, use the Options command, and make sure the Display Filter setting says All. Of course, if the screen is blank and lists no recordings, it should already say to do that...

Are you using any customizations?

If you create a new Manual Recording, does the show record? If not, the FAQ thread contains instructions for enabling debug logging to see what is happening.

Andy,

I enabled debugging and I saw no error messages. No manual or timed recordings show up. Only when I select a show currently airing does anything display. I made sure all of the favorites were not marked "watched" and even created a new favorite. I logged on to the machines that have the DVR cards and could view TV and I'm able to watch TV through the server as well.

Anything else I can check?

Thanks for your help,

John

Unfortunately it sounds like your wiz.bin file got trashed, a new one created and the .bak was overwritten with the new copy. Its happened to me previously and since then I've taken backups of wiz.bin daily (sticky somewhere in forums about doing this).

I wasn't worried about whether a new Manual Recording showed up on the schedule screen. The important part of the question was: did it actually record even though it wasn't shown on the schedule screen? You can also try that on a currently airing show - tell it to record & see what happens. Are any new shows appearing on the SageTV Recordings screen?

As for the log, restart SageTV on the server, try adding a couple manual recordings. Make one of them a currently airing show & another one a show that airs later. Exit SageTV & send the log to tech support. If using service mode, remember that the service uses sage.properties, the UI uses sageclient.properties, and you should enable logging in both.

I am not using any customizations.
Currently airing shows record.
All tuner cards are configured and visable.
Display setting is set to All.
Scheduled, timed and manual recordings do not record in the future.
Both the server and the clients have been rebooted.

I guess I'll have to enable logging and send it off to Frey.

Thanks
