PVR-150 Tuning inconsistency

Does anyone else have inconsistent tuning on their hauppauge PVR-150 card? sometimes when I select a channel I get video, but noisy audio. If I channel up, then channel down, the audio returns to normal.

This occurs randomly, and not always on the same channel.

So far, I've only seen this using Sage, and not the bundled software, though I haven't used the bundled software much.

You'll discover it's a known problem with the card. Under windows some claim it's a driver version issue, I don't know what versions they claim work so go to http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb and search there. You'll see it after a bit.

I had the same problem. Upgrading the drivers to the curent beta drivers for the card fixed it for me. (this problem is even listed as fixed in the release notes) Far as I can tell they are stable, but since they are beta make sure you have system restore enabled incase they create more problems.

thanks for the info, everyone. I didn't turn anything up searching. I'll check out avsforum and check into the new drivers.

I don't know about the PVR150, but for my PVR500s I had to add a registry setting after upgrading to the newest driver. Without it I would get corrupt recordings with the new driver. Since adding the registry settings I haven't had anymore problems.

Blade, what did you do to the registry? and what drivers worked for your PVR 500?

I am packing my 500 up today and sending it to Hauppauge for a new one, but, if there is something I can try first, maybe I can save the card.

I have a pvr 150 installed and it works fine...The 500 has the same drivers, but I get garbled video. The audio for the 500 comes through fine.

Thanks for any help..

The registry settings are talked about here. I have no idea if the newer drivers will help you or not because my problem was different. I just wanted to point out that there are known problems caused by the newer drivers and a solution.
