Why does it keep shutting down
I have the latest version of sagetv and have been using it for over a year and a half now, if not longer. I have a system dedicated to sagetv and I have since I started using it. I have never used this system for anything else I built it to accomodate sagetv. I have 1200GB of storage and 1.5 Gigs of memory, more than enough to do what i want. Since i starterd using sage tv, everything has worked fine accept for a few kinks here and there that were never any problem to remedy. My only complaint is that about 3 times a day sagetv just stops running. I don't use service mode, I have never really liked to way it performed that way. I was wondering if anyone knows of this problem occuring on theuir systems and anything I can try to fix it from happening. Or if someone knows of a way or program that I can use to make the system check to see if sage is running and if not start it back up for me, so I don't have to keep checking on it all the time.

Have you updated your java recently?
I've found that Java can be very picky. Try completely uninstalling java and sage (make sure to backup the important sage files) and then install the java 1.4 (1.5 has been buggy for me). |
