Soundcards

Just wondering what sound cards people are using. I have an ASUS p4p800E deluxe with AC97 optical out. Is the something that might give me better sound? Thanks

Turtle Beach Montego DDL with Optical out. I prefer to use a standalone sound card, rather than a sound card built into the motherboard.

I use the optical out from my motherboard and like it just fine. The only thing bad about it, though, is that the volume on the HTPC doesn't do anything. I need to keep the receiver remote around just for that.
I can't see spending $80 on something that provides the same thing you already have onboard, plus you lose the PCI slot. That's just me though.

Yea, thanks, jds23. Works great for me.

Except I can't control the volume of Dolby Digital, have to use the receiver. Oh well, back to two remotes
