v5 client with v4 server - OK?

v5 client with v4 server - is this valid?

Yes I think that will work. Why not just upgrade the server to V5 though?

I don't believe v4 will work with v5, but there's a good chance that v4.1 will work with v5.

paranoid chicken - want to try v5 client before changing my server to v5. the WAF is high and I want to keep it so. You've heard of the "three strikes" law? Well, it's not that generous in my household when it comes to technology.

Rarely have I ever "upgraded" software products from any supplier without glitches.
