Moving My Sage directory to a new hard drive

I am new to SageTV, just loading it last Sunday on my PC and using an extender to my TV. I really like it.

Now, that I see it is working well, I am going to buy me a large hard drive to add to my PC and to store my SageTV files. Other than noting where the Sage directory can be found, is there anything else I need to do in terms of making sure the moved files work with SageTV? I am planning on just moving them via Windows Explorer drag and drop, but wanted to make sure before I did. Thanks.

Brent

Here is what I do.

Ensure that both the new and old directories are setup in Sage.

Make sure you have stopped the SageTV service and/or application.

Copy files.

Restart Sage service and/or application and check that they exist. Sometimes it can take a few minutes to find them all (have no idea why).

If you don't run the service, then just close SageTV.

Good luck

this is such a fundamental and frequent requirement that the procedures need to be simply and correctly described *prominently* in the user documentation.
