OK Guys,
Has anyone played with a Foxtel IQ STB & the IQ MultiRoom accessory ??? http://www.foxtel.com.au/accessories/4753.htm I'm tempted to buy one since they are only $70 as it will allow me to use BOTH the internal tuners in the Foxtel IQ with Sage. My only dilema is that I'm allready using the RF In on the PVR 500 to provide FTA (I have Foxtel Sattelite so don't 2 of the FTA channels) & I NEED to keep this. The IQ MultiRoom accessory uses a UHF channel so it would also need to be connected to the RF In on the PVR 500. Does anyone see any issues in getting a splitter and connecting BOTH RF sources (FTA & IQ Multiroom) to the RF in on the PVR 500 ? TIA

Foxtel installation IQ multiroom kit
Quote:
hi, you do not need splitter just for FTA channels, just run aerial cable through the Foxtel box RF IN and get signal for your PVR from RF1 and RF2 will be used for Foxtel multiroom remote eye. Any questions feel free to PM me ... I am in Melborune if you need help with installations Cheers |

IQ2
Hi, my eye multiroom has been working fine. Until today I just upgraded ,my IQ to IQ2. There is no connection at the back of IQ2 that I can plug the Eye Multiroom cable in, usually goes to the one that looks like antenna connector. Does anyone know, maybe I should buy a converter, if there is any? At the back of the IQ2, there are only S-video out, HDMI, USB, Coaxial connection. Pls help. Thanks.

IQ2 and multiroom
Quote:
IQ2 box does not support multiroom remote eye you had with your old IQ box and you won't be able to use it. The only way to send signal through existing coax cable earlier used by multiroom eye is to buy modulator which convert AV signal to RF. But you won't be able to change channels. If your 2nd TV is not too far from your IQ2 box instead your RF cable I would buy and run new cables (preferabley S-Video for the video and 2RCA to 2RCA for the sound)) - this setup will give you much better picture, but you won't be able to change channels ... |

I have had multi-room addition for about 9 months, working fine until one day it decided to stop. I thought it was the receiver and had it replaced but still no fix. Still got a picture on 2nd TV but no controller functions. Foxtel do not want to know me with an outside supplier addition. Anyone???

Foxtel multiroom

do you have a light on the eye itself if you plug it directly to RF2 9V DC OUT ? It maybe bad termination ... Or splitter which prevent voltage feeding the eye. I assume you both have IQ boxes ... Also check if in settings are enabled to power RF2 output ... Last edited by IQtech; 10-13-2008 at 10:59 PM. |

I have also moved the second TV right next to the IQ box, and used 2 different cables to connect (so no cable probelms or lenght issues). Still the same result. As this was working one day and not the next, I have done nothing to the settings. How do you check to see if the power RF2 output is enabled? Thanks |

I think the issue is in the remote eye. Have you tried to connect it directly to the IQ box, and treid to change channels ? (just cover the box infrared receiver with something or turn it around) I have had issues with these remote eyes as well. Where did you get the multiroom eye from ? Do yuo have TvLink one or different brand ? |

Nothing seems to work, I am betting that's its foxtel's issue, as that's the only thing that has not been replaced. |

Hi guys,
I have 2 IQ2 boxes in my house (got both for free after they stuffed me around with IQ2 upgrade). I have the second IQ2 box in the lounge room (the other is is the main room) and want to also be able to use it in the bedroom. I've bought a remote extender so I can change channels from the bedroom and want to be able to run AV cables for the picture/sound. What is the best way of doing this seeing as the IQ2 has no RF out. The TV in the lounge is currently connected by RCA cables (neither telly has component video IN). Can I just split these RCA cables and have each connection running to two TVs (i'll never be using both at once) or do I have to get a SCART to RCA connector? Cheers in advance. Cam |
