Some Imported Video Doesn't Work

Some of my SVCD MPEG files work on MVP but others don't
All off them work when played from server.
Any rhyme or reason to this?
How do I setup the Server/MVP to transcode SVCD files?

I'm having the same problem ever since the SageTV 5 upgrade. Some of my WMV files don't play or lock up the system.

One example is from http://zdpub.vo.llnwd.net/o2/dltv/ep.../dl.tv.070.wmv

Where did the SVCD MPEGs come from? My experience is that many SVCDs downloaded from the internet are not fully MPEG compliant. I'd start by checking that out.

As for the WMV, I have no clue. Sage transcodes them on the fly so it could be a bug....

I hade the same problem when I was looking for a good DVD ripper to SVCD for my MVP's. There seems to be some variations that an MVP does not like but Windows for the Server is fine with it. The MVP uses a hardware chip to decode MPEG2 so it may be picky.

Here is the tread: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18649

Some SVCD's files work on the server but not the MVP... seems kinda odd. Very picky about what it wants to play.
