Finding Duplicate shows?

Is there any feature that allows me to search for duplicate shows that I may have recorded? I was hoping there was a way to query sagetv and find out. If needed, I dont mind using Studio if I need to figure out how to use it. I am a computer programmer, so it wouldnt be too long to figure it out.

I have a LOT of shows recorded, and I know I record duplicates. Was just hoping there was a way built in or some other tool, to help me find them

Thanks

In general, Sage doesn't record duplicates. If the guide data is sufficient to tell, Sage won't record something it's already recorded if it's still on the drive.

Play with the sorting and grouping options. I'm sure there's a way to group and sort by name, but I don't have Sage in front of me right now to give you the specifics.

I guess when I said duplicates, I meant like if I told SageTV to manually record a movie, after I had already recorded it one time before and I just didnt realize it.

When I use the web server interface to sagetv, I can see all shows on one screen. but I have almost 5TB of storage now, and so the list gets lengthy, and I was just wondering if there was some way to read the list of show names using a script or Studio or whatever.

Use the Options command while on the SageTV Recordings screen -- you can group by Title & other choices. If you use malore's menus via the hidden features, there are additional grouping & sorting options. But, grouping by title should quickly show any repeats.

Unfortunately, it does record in my case and it is a bit irritating. Program descriptions are indentical, but Sage shows both airings as first time runs. What is my guide data missing/how does Sage detect unique airings?

*EDIT* Ok, I found the FAQ and got an answer. It seems to be that the duplicate detection methos is insufficient in my case. My former HTPC software handled this better.
