No TV sound

Hi, I'm totally new to SageTV and I can't get sound output when watching LiveTV. I have sound when listening to music and watching video, but not during LiveTV.
With SageTV I use a Hauppauge 250, but previously I used ATI MMC with a X800XT and I had no sound problems there. I should also mention that I don't use the tuner on the 250, only composite-input, just as I did with the X800XT. The sound input is connected to my sound cards line-in. The sound card is a Terratec Aureon Space 7.1. Sound is outputted using an optical cable to my home theater receiver.

I don't know if SageTV is not receiving any sound or is not outputting it.

any ideas?

thanks in advance

The PVR250 doesn't use a "line out" for the TV. It passes sound through the PCI bus. There is no physical cable to connect. You won't use the line-in on your sound card for Sage audio. Set it for stereo mix or however you particular card lists it.

Connect the sound to the 250's audio input, not to your sound card, so audio can be included in the recording.

Oh-and that too.

I have to quit doing this from work. I miss the details.

of course, stupid me. I forgot all about that the audio input goes directly to the 250 card. I haven't used that card for years.

now it works

thanks for the help
