150 and 500 not playing nice with each other

I had a 150 installed and all was fine. Then I bought a 500 to add 2more tuners. I updated all drivers to be the same..Now,the (2) 500 tuners do fine, but the 150 tuner either is "white screen" or is very fuzzy.

When I disable both 500 tuners, then the 150 plays fine. And the 500's continue to play fine, if I disable the 150.

I've changed drivers several times...made the all the same, and made them all different. I even did a "clear" and started over. Same result.

So, I think there are 3 possibilities

1) the cards are having a problem with each other.

2) my cable is not strong enough to put out 3 signals (don't think that's true)

3) my computer is not fast enough to handle 3 video feeds. (how do I check the cpu usage while playing video?)

Would love some help in figuring it out...

Did you try putting the 150 in a different PCI slot? Sounds like an IRQ sharing issue. Other people have the same with no issues.

I just checked in device manager...One of the tuners on the 500 is IRQ 16 and the other is IRQ 17..The IRQ on the 150 is 17...Thus, the same as one of the ones on the 500..

Honestly, I am a real novice when it comes to IRQ's, but them being the same may be the problem???....So,can I change one of them to a new IRQ without removing the card?

Thanks,

Gary

Easy answer-nope. Open your PC and move it to a different slot. You probably want to run hwclear and start again now that you know you have an IRQ issue. You can also disable any ports you aren't using in your BIOS like serial ports, parallel ports, etc to help free up more IRQ so they are available for the tuner to use. And you might want to install one card at a time and load the drivers as opposed to sticking both cards in the PC at the same time.
