translucent menus w/ Overlay?
Is it possible to have the translucent menus when playing video in overlay mode, like it does when in VMR9??
Overlay looks better for me, but I would like to have the nicer looking interface as well. |

Nope. The whole point of the Video Mixing Renderer (VMR) is that it can do things that Overlay can't do, like alpha blending (translucency). Overlay is just what it says, a separate video image laid over top of the UI without any sort of mixing or blending.

I know its possible with the Placeshifter client. Its definitely using overlay and it does have transparent menus, maybe not fully supported or nice looking as VMR, but it does work. Although, I'm not sure if its possible with the regular client, probably require some sort of cheat or hack to make it appears transparent in overlay mode.
