Channel setup

Hiya,

Having problems setting up all the channels in Sage.

When I click scan available channels in channel setup Sage only scans through 11 channels. Prime is on chanel 59, Juice is on 57.

I have tried using both freqcopy and freqshifter very simply - I map channel 1 to 774.5Mhz (prime). Appears in the registry fine under TS64-1. I then add channel 1 in sage but just get static.

I've read all I can find but can't get it sorted - help please!

What TV Card are you using ??
What OS are you using ??
What version SageTV are you using ??
Are you using the latest drivers for your TV Card

It should scan through 57 Channels.
I have not used Analog TV for some time but I can't recall there ever being a problem with channel scans.
There is certainly no need for reg changes etc.

Thanks for the help Ian...

I'm running a Hauppauge PVR 150, Win 2000 Pro, SageTV 5.

I have found that I can set my region to the Netherlands as they also run PAL-B and the frequencies seem close enough (must try Aussie too). When I do that it scans through 60+ channels in setup. I'm happy to use this but I'm sure I'll run into probs elsewhere. Deffinately seems to point to the frequency/channel mappings setup for NZ on Win 2000...

Are you using your digital card to watch a pay station like Foxtel or Optus? I'm keen to try out a CAM and a smart card and getting SkyTV to work here but we can see the Optus satellite here so I can't get Sky going then I could look at an Aussie provider...

Has anyone else go Sky working in NZ?

You could be right about Win2K frequency setup. I'm sure there would be a reg fix for that, just not sure where you would find it.

The Digital card is for DVB-T not DVB-S.
If you had the correct CAM I guess that would be a good start. Not sure what encryption they are using these days. Most likely Irdeto 2 or NDS.

Hope someone else from NZ can help you out.

cheers

NZ freq list

hey here is the freq.reg file i use cut and paste it into a file called nzfreq.reg then edit it if required and double click on it sorry it wouldnt let me attach the file send me a pm with your email if you want me to email you the file

these freqs are for new zealand chanels 1 through 60

this is a little confusing there are 3 ways we use the term chanel

there is the chanel name TV1 or C4
the is the channel on the remote, on sky c4 is chanell 3 prime is 6
and there is the freq channel in nz that is between 1 and 60

in the file the numbers between the quotes are the remotebutton numbers the strange sequence of numbers is the actual frequescy the receiver tunes to (ie the nz specific bit) and the number after the // is the freq channel number we know them by in NZ

;; 775250000L, // 59
"6"=dword:2e356050

mean when we select chanel 6 on the remote we tune to freq 59

the file i have provided is set for auckland from waitarua and i have used the sky chanell numbers so the chanell "Prime" is on chanellid "6" braodcast on freq channel 59

to change things all you should edit is the numbers between the "" if there is no number between the quotes then that chanell is inactive

if you dont know which freq chanels chaneles are broadcast on in your area the easiest way is to go to someones house near you that has terrestrial sky go to chanell setup and it will list the channel frequency numbers they are using
