media file directories
I just upgraded to v5 am trying to import my media files. I have my pictures and music organized in subfolders under a common picture and music folder. Do I need to add each subfolder? I tried adding the parent folder, but it doesn't appear to have detected anything in the subfolders.
Thanks, DJM |

If you are adding the parent dir for both music & pictures, then you just need to add that single dir & make sure it is configured to import those media types in Detailed Setup -> General -> Import dirs.
It may need more time to scan, but are you using service mode? If so, make sure you are not using mapped drive letters. If you are using UNC paths, the service needs to log in as a user w/a password & have permission to access the path. If the service was configured to do this previously, then the installation reset it & you'll have to assign the user + password again. - Andy

Thanks. I am using service mode and was trying to import directories on drives local to the server. I changed both user running the service and changed the directories to use UNC paths and it appears to be working.
Thanks again! DJM |
