Busted IR cable and recepticle - Best replacement?
I have a hauppauge PVR-150 and the ir blaster cable got snagged while moving the pc, resulting in a broken connector, as well as a broken socket on the card. Seeing that it was kinda flimsy anyways, does anyone have a suggestion for decent IR solution (or Card + remote so I can have two tuners), that is 100% compat with Sage, and isn't quite so flimsy? If I have to I'll pick up another PVR-150, but wasn't sure If I should be looking at the MCE version or not (or something else). Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Thanks! Mike ***EDIT*** I should probably also mention that I'll be playing with X10 on the pc soon, so if there is something out there that may work with both, even better... Last edited by govgeek; 06-01-2006 at 11:42 AM. |

I just switched over to a USB-UIRT over the weekend. It works flawlessly and is completely supported in SageTV. It will receive just about any remote IR code, so you can use any remote with it (including your hauppauge remote). I use a Home Theather Master MX-700. It comes with the X10 IR codes in its database (you will need the X10 IR receiver), though I don't have X10 at the moment. If you want to control X10 with a remote through the computer, you will probably need some additional software like Girder to do it (But that will work with the USB-UIRT as well). I couldn't be happier with the result. Good luck.
