Comskip and TS files vs. MPG files

I have a minor problem that i hope ther eis a simple config tweak for. I have my HD OTA cards configured to save their files as TS file. This file is properly processed by comskip. BUT, when I go to view the TS file within SAGE, it is as if sage has no idea that there is a comskip txt file for that program. Now, if I simply change the extension of the recorded program to MPG from TS, then it is immediatly recognized by sage as having been processed by comskip, and the comskip features are invoked.

Any ideas why SAGE would not recognize comskip capability when the recorded file is a TS file?
