Playback Skips

On some of my recorded shows, when I play them back the time indicator will jump a few seconds. Then the video will jump ahead (audio is in sync), and the time indicator displays the seconds correctly. I haven't had it do this more than once in one video file.

Is the an error recording the video? Is it an error playing it back?

If you look at the detailed info for the recording & scroll all the way down, it will display the list of file(s) for the recording... if there are multiple files for the recording, that definitely means there was some sort of issue during recording that caused the recording to stop & restart.

Multiple files

So that's the culprit. Now I gotta figure out why it would be splitting the recording. I run the TVService thing which runs in the background.

If I'm running the client and then close it while it's recording, would it split the recorded file even though I use the Service?

You can open & close the UI portion (client) while the service is running & that will not affect recoridngs in in progress... unless service mode got turned off somehow & the UI portion really is controlling all recordings.

You could enable debug logging for possible info on what might be causing the split files. You could contact tech support w/the log.

it shouldnt, doesnt on my setup.. thats the benifit of running sage as a service. it gives you the ability to close the client, or not run the client at all, and still record your shows... uninterupted.
