Loss of remote control capability in a 1X-PVR350 & 3X-PVR150 DVR system

For this question:
1. SageTVService.exe is running as a service
2. SageTV.exe is running as an application which starts with windows.
3. IR.exe by Hauppauge is running as a service.
4. Sage v5.0.2
5. Windows XP Home Edition SP2, with lastest updates as of 05-25-06.

I Install a PVR350 along with three PVR150 tuners. All four sources are added and configured for receiving broadcast television by antenna with the onboard tuners switching channels as required. Sage does not enable use of the PVR350's IR receiver to allow control of movie playback.

I go to Windows XP device manager and disable all three PVR150 tuners without rebooting, until I disable the last of the three PVR150 tuners. The machine is then rebooted.

Sage gives me control of the PVR350 through the PVR350's IR receiver. I re-enable all three PVR150s in the Windows device manager. At this point Sage won't allow me to control playback of my movie with the PVR350's IR receiver any longer.

I reboot the machine. Sage still won't allow allow control of movie playback with the PVR350's IR receiver.

I want to be able to control playback of my movies through the PVR350's IR receiver with all three PVR150 cards installed. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

This has nothing to do with SageTV's ability to 'use' the Hauppauge remote, since it doesn't control the IR receiver at all; it is a matter between the Hauppauge remote software & the drivers for the tuner cards. If the 150s have IR ports, then you can try plugging the IR cable into the various cards until you find the one that the Hauppauge IR software is using.

If the 150s are MCE versions and have no IR port, the you are suffering from the Hauppauge drivers not being able to distinguish between cards that have an IR port & those that don't. In your case, it would be trying to use a card that has no IR port.

There might be some work-arounds you could use near the end of this discussion.

This poll really has nothing to do with your post.
