USB-UIRT Issues
OK going crazy here. I just recived my usb-uirt. I have gone through this site and read alot of the other issues. Might have missed a few. Anyway here is my problem. I seems that when I teach Girder a remote function I cant get it to work. I have tried with serveral remotes and same issue.
Here are the steps that I took. Inserted drivers for usb-uirt installed usb-uirt installed Girder installed the usb-uirt .dll file Downloaded stusals usb-urit file import the file go to the specific event screens (ex. down, up) click learn event Point remote at usb-urit Grider displays remote code test remote code Not working Any help would be great. |

There are a number of plugins that you should enable (some of which you will need to download from Girder's site) before my GML will work... I posted the list a couple of times in a couple of the girder threads.
Are you saying that cannot even get a IR remote-triggered event to fire at all? Or that you aren't getting the desired end result? |

Cant get the trigger event to work. I will click on the down arrow string event on girder then the learn event button, press the down arrow on the remote, girder will learn the down arrow key on from my remote, but when tested nothing seems to happen.

That's odd. Make sure that the command is enabled, and that the groups in which it exists are enabled (the checkbox is in the top left of the right pane IIRC and disabled groups have some sort of X through them I think).

Ok have check the box it is enabled. I forgot to mentioned that I am trying to get this to work on sage client. I dont think it really matters since they use the same controls. I do have a question does the sage usb port in the client have to be on. I dont have it on at this point it have tried it both ways nothing changed.

You're out of my league now as I don't have the Sage client.... but I would suspect that if you want to control the client and also have the server send IR commands to a cable box, then you're looking at 2 USB-UIRTs... one for each machine.

At this point I am only looking at controling the client. From my understanding the client has the same settings as the host. I am using the hauggpuge 250 on the host right know in the bedroom and a trial of the client on my computer in the office. they are wooking flawlessly. I want to test the remote so when I purchase the client I will be able to use a remote on it, say in the living room. I control my bedroom system (the host) with the serial cable in the back that intrun sage changes the channels I plan on doing the same with the client in the living room that has the same directv type receiver as the host.

In Girder click on one of the SageTV commands. Go to the plugin tab in the lower right corner of the girder window. The sendmessage plugin should be highlighted. Now click on the TARGET button. In the lower right hand change the name of the executable to sagetvclient.exe. You have to do this to all of the commands but once you do you will have girder controlling the SageTV client. I found this out the hard way. But thanks to jptaz's gml file that helped me find out what I needed to change.
