Ever since MVP, first digit in IR code does'nt work

I set up a Sage Server and single MVP client and am using 2 BEV 3100 tuners with custom IR files. Both tuners work fine when server is disabled. The minute I enable Sage server, the channel changes screw up. Eg I enter 208 but only 08 is sent. This happens 9 times out of 10. Its as though Sages isn't paying attention.

I'll submit a bug report to Sage but I would like to know from someone why enabling server functionality would impact the IR signals.

Anyone have any ideas? I am sure someone has experienced something similar and may be able to relay some feedback.

Have you tried to reduce the delay between the digits being sent? I've got mine for my USB-UIRT to moto DCT-2244 down to 50. The reason I ask is that I was seing something like what you describe but I could see the first digit by itself then the other 2 showing up. So I reduced the setting for the "delay between codes" option for the USB-UIRT tuner control in Sage Sources setup.

Don't know if what I describe above will help you or is even relevant but only thing similar that I have experienced.

Its sounds like mine is the opposite problem. As though the fisrt digit is being blasted too fast for my box to recieve the code. Its as though Sage is too eager to send the signal to the USB-UIRT. Sage THINKS its on channel 524 but sends the 5 to fast to the USB-UIRT and so only thw 24 gets transmitted to my sat box.

There are 2 delay fields, I guess one is the before and one is the after.

I looked at the IR config file itselt and noticed the following delay field values:
Delay 1 : 600ms , Delay 2: 900ms and there is a repeat count 5.

Are these the delays you are refering too?

I played with these but I only previosly increased them. I think delay 1 is the delay before IR starts to transmit and delay 2 is the delay between codes. Repeat count is the amount of bursts the USB- UIRT sends to send the codes.

repeat count is the only one that is not changable in SageTV directly and that is how I change mine. I don't edit the IR file for that because it is easier to see the changes from the MVP that way - at least for me.
Here is the first 3 lines of one of my IR files:
CBPCI1 37616 411 3 50 500
RepeatCount 10
1 Z1 0000 006c 00

The 50 on the first line is the delay between digits sent and is usually a small number to prevent what you described first or at least what I thought you were describing anyway. Default is 600 in MotorolaDCT2000.ir.

The 500 on the first line is the delay before the first digit is sent to the STB. This is at 1000 in the default MotorolaDCT2000.ir.

I would suggest you try reducing the first number so that there is less time between each digit and increasing the second so that it will wait longer before trying to send the first digit. Maybe make yours something like:

<IR file name here> ????? ??? ? 100 1500

where the ??? are your settings and the first is the actual file name of the IR file without the .ir extension.

BobP.

PS if you want to adjust the settings above from within SageTV look at the graphics from this post of mine or the one immediately following by Sambo555. He give a better definition of the makeup of the IR file then mine above.
