I've been testing it all along, not sure why you haven't figured out how, but oh, well, it was your idea, anyway...

Gotta keep SageMC one step ahead of SageTV!

Yeah, too bad we couldn't keep the major revisions the same, but I don't see how it would be possible, and not confuse people...

Its too bad we cant "renumber" the current MC to something like SageMC 5.20, so that it stays with SageTV v5, and then have SageMC 6.20 be for SageTV v6. Its going to catch people offgaurd I bet having MC 6 for Sage5, and MC7 for Sage 6.

Yea it would be nice, but then you'd really have people corn fus-ed...

You could rerev the current 6.x to 5.9.x? then then new 7.x could really be 6.x

Oh, I could have been mistaken for what new feature we were talking about. There are just so many features, you know?

Sometimes I wish there was like a feature to keep track of the features...

I have created a download page for the SageMC WeatherMap Import to make it easier to find for those that need to re-import it and those who may have missed it in the forum in the first place.

Why not just stick with what we have at 6.x? Then when SageTV changes to 7 in the distant future, SageMC will naturally be there.

OK, now I got it working. All it took was a re-install using the new installer and turning off colored guide, pulling the guide up, and re-enabling it.

Thanks for the assurances that it should work.

Yeah, now looking back it was quite stupid to start the new branch with a new major version number ...

Well, I'm not sure what to do either. I don't think it'll be a good idea to 're-version' the current one to 5.x, so this only leaves us with either

- just continue with 6.13
- name it 6.0 SE or something (but this might confuse too)
- make the change more explicit by continuing with 6.50 or so ...
- start with 7.0

What about 6.6 or just .6

Or do like MS - make it 2004 (about 2 yrs late)

or the STV formerly known as 6.0

I think the only logical thing is for SageTV to change its version number to 7.0 for the official release.

On a slightly more realistic note. I think just releasing the last v5 compatible update as 6.13 should be just fine. Then starting with 6.2, move ahead with a new/separate V6+ compatible download. As long as the SageTV version requirements are plastered in neon all over the place for both downloads, it should be fine.

Isn't that what they did after the 3. beta testing... released it as 4.0 w/ studio

See? There's precedent.

Yup, and all our upgrade licenses are for V6 only. $30 more for a V7 upgrade license

(not that I think Sage would do that to us)

I don't claim to be an expert, I am running SageMC 6.x now, and SageTv 5.x, and I have no confusion.

Seems if we continue with SageMC 7.x and SageTV 6.x it will be the same.

I like the idea of jumping to a .5 version (6.5) to emphasize the difference and allow SageTV to catch up.

The version number is not as important to me. I just want them to play well with each other.
