Also, for the comskip comments.. I noticed mention of text files. Look into edl. In show analyzer, I disable SageTV support and use mplayer (edl) instead.

I am currently not using Sage for music either, I use Meedio for all my music (which is in FLAC format). I won't promise anything, but if SageTV 5.1 will really support FLAC tags as promised, I might consider doing some work on the SageMC music library to get rid of Meedio. I won't be touching the Sage visualizations though, since I only use the Winamp visualizations with my music, simply can't live without the freakin awesome milkdrop ... Dirk |

The thing I do see on the timeline is at the beginning and at the end of a recording there are long black blocks. But only at the beginning and the end, none periodically throughout the recording where you think the commercials should be. One recording does have a split near the end. I watched the program in that area and it did skip the commercial perfectly, but only at the very end of the program. |

One question, When showanalyzer is doing it's thing a window pops up right in the middle of the screen while it's working. Is there anyway to get rid of that or is that happening because I have Background Processing: While Awake and/or While Recording enabled? Thanks for the tip and to everyone else who helped me. |

Also, run the Showanalyzer config program and make sure that it runs in 'invisable' mode and check the other setting from that page...you'll figure it out. The config program should reside in the showanalyzer directory that was created during install... Enjoy! JD |

SageMC & Showanalyzer
Thanks JDizzy,
The only fine tip you didn't give me, but I did get from one of the other helpers was that I should have done this when it first came out. Thanks a ton again, this is getting SO great!!! |

JDizzy,
One last question, do you use comclean or anything like that? |

Comclean

One thing I did notice is that there are getting to be a few .txt files building up in my Showanalyzer directory. I wonder if when you finally delete the show you used showanalyzer on if it also deletes the .txt file associated with it.... Or is this where comclean comes in? Anyone |

Weather Suite
Does anyone have the files for Weather Suite (WRS)??
The wiki and downloads get an error when trying to access the file... I got a weatherconfig.xml from the forums but am missing the .jar file (I think) JD |

I used ShowAnalyzer in the past, but dumped it because it wasn't as accurate as comskip and it would hang when processing shows pretty regularly. Also if SageMC supports it (or there is anyway to add it) I'd use edl instead of txt files because it's more accurate. Txt files give the skip time in frames where as edl gives the actual time and for some reason using the time is more accurate. Last edited by blade; 09-10-2006 at 02:43 PM. |

Well, this is the beauty of using DirMon2, you can define cleanup tasks that take care of this. Also, it allows you to schedule multiple comskip tasks concurrently. Dirk |
