Sorry but I have to disagree here ... :

- in "Detailed Setup/Advanced", load SageTV3.xml
- make any changes you need
- in "Detailed Setup/Advanced", load SageMC_169.xml (or whatever your current SageMC STV is)

Really no rocket science involved ...

Hey, I've got a question, was the "smooth" FFW on the DVD an addon or part of the original STV? Because I really don't like it

jds, the two are because one shows which one it recorded on (when it was recorded), and the other shows which one it will be recording, or is recording on.

Not a big deal, I guess, but kind of a nice feature. It's like the difference between the yellow dot, versus the red dot in the original SageMC STV.

Color coded recordings list

flachbar,

Now that we have color coded EPG by category, thanks to you! and MeInMaui!, I think it would it be great to have the same colors-by category- in the Recorded shows list we have.

What do you think? Could it be implemented?

Thanks!
Oren.

Radio

I am very new to SageMC and may have missed it. I see that Morgan111 is working on getting the web radio by Koelec to work in SageMC.
Has anyone integrated the FM Radio import or the Movie Listings into SageMC?

Yep check out http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...&postcount=228

Dont think it is the absolute latest version tho.

I'm not sure about FM Radio import.

That is the latest SageMC file for it. Aperry has an updated release that includes an update to the MTSA program for collecting the movie data. You should start with his latest there but import the SageMC stv file (xml) that I created based on his stv. There are a few minor cosmetic tweaks that I have worked on, but the current version works just fine. I will create a page under the the customization downloads for the next update so it will be easier to find. aperry has specified a link to it on his download page as well.

STV Import: MovieTimes Movie Listings Import v0.57 Beta

I have looked at the FM Radio import and may look at doing something for that in a few weeks if no one else is starting anything. Hmmmm. Actually I may look at HAL first..

So use Aperry latest files except just import your xml file instead of his to get the latest version? I wasnt sure if it would work that way thats why I didnt upgrade.

Thx,

Miller

Probly a general question for sagetv but I use SageMC now.

Can I get sagetv to play .flv files and .mp4 files? Any way to fake it out. I tried adding the extension to the Sage.properties file with no go. I get the playback exception error. I tried using the OTHER FILE in sageMC video area.

Hey Flach,
This is really baffling. I couldn't find that line at all in the Sage.Properties file. I could swear I've been using SageMC.

After I downloaded it, I put it in the SageTV3 folder. I went into Setting, Detailed Setup, Advanced, then down to SageTV Application Package (.STV File) and selected it. It opened the box and I selected SageMC_169.stv from the list and loaded it. I wouldn't be shocked if I did something wrong, there is so much more to this than what I thought, but it's fun though.

I am adding my properties file just in case. I haven't had much time this week to work on this like I have been, so sorry for the wait in response.

Thanks for all your help thus far, I really appreciate it!!

EDIT: Well now I feel like a dummy, I didn't know SageMC was your creation. I think you would know better than anyone if I'm using it or not :0)

You should be choosing the latest .xml file flachbar has provided, not the .stv. .stv is old .xml is new.

Hey Kricker,
Thanks for that info. I didn't know.

I JUST downloaded the latest 6.6 and extracted the base and the update like Flachbar said to do. I opened Detailed Setup and went to Advanced, SageTV application Package to try and load SageMC. I see the .stv's, but no XML's. Could this have something to do with using Sage v4?

Just when I think I've got something, I really don't.

pvr599,

For some reason I had a really hard time locating that file in the list (although I have quite a few .xml files to search through). Verify that the file is actually in C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3 (or whatever your sage dir is). To manually select that STV you can then open your sage.properties or sageclient.properties file and near the top you will see a "STV=current stv file" line. Replace it with this line:

STV=C\:\\Program Files\\SageTV\\SageTV\\STVs\\SageTV3\\SageMC_169.xml

it is because you have an .stv currently loaded, they cannot read the .xml files. the default for SageTV is now also an .xml file. But once you choose an .stv you can not choose an .xml file anymore. You will need to edit your .properties file by hand to put the proper .xml file in.

EDIT
Morgan111 beat me to it. Do what he said. Just make sure the path is correct. I for one do not have Sage installed into C:\:\\Program Files\\

Are you using SageTV in service mode ? Then you will need to edit SageClient.properties ...

Nah, don't feel like a dummy
Btw, I did not create SageMC, the great mlbdude deserves all credit for it. I am just adding / fixing some stuff from time to time ...

Thanks guys,
I don't have that line in my properties file. I posted it a few posts back. Please tell me I'm crazy and it's right there in front of me.

what happens if you change this line at the bottom of the file you posted
"wizard/widget_db_file=C\:\\Program Files\\SageTV\\SageTV\\STVs\\SageTV3\\SageMC_169.stv"
BTW we might want to take this to the SageMC addon thread and quite hijacking the movietimes thread.

I tried this and I just get a black picture. No UI.
