It uses the first frame of the video as the art. How do I force it to use the cover art?

Thank you.
Justin,

did you rescan the import folders after you copied the .jpg file into the video folder ?

Yes, you can get that

Also there seems to be no way to have the pictures zoom to fill the screen like in the standard stv.
I'll check on this too

And one more thing, is there any way to return to the pop-up for a removable device to copy files to and from after you have closed the pop-up? I see no command or internal screen to do this. I would love some sort of file browse module to make the task of moving files all do-able within Sage.
Does the default STV offer this ? If so, it shouldn't be too hard to add to SageMC, otherwise I'll have to see...

Dirk, thank you for the quick reply. The problem is that I can't find the rescan option. In the normal interface I knew where it was but in this one I can't seem to find it.

Does Sage/SageMC (I'm not sure which it is) send just the path (up to \video_ts) for a DVD when starting an external player? It seems that PowerDVD requires something all the way up to the file (eg \video_ts\video_ts.ifo). As a result, I can't get PowerDVD to start as an external player--which is a problem, because Sage6 is cutting off the right third of my screen (http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22983).

I can't just add that filename to the .cmd file (eg %1\video_ts.ifo) because the path gets quoted.

Any thoughts?
I'll add an option to accomplish this

When you are in the 'My Videos' menu and have any of the left-hand menu buttons focused, bring up the options menu ...

And as a workaround for now, if you select "Manage Picture Folders" and just hit "Ok", you will also get the 'Rescan Library" dialog...

Thanks!!

...and did I say AWESOME STV???? We're coming from 2.2.8's default STV, so it's like moving to an entirely new app!

As long as we're adding to the request list, my wife noticed that the recorded shows list no longer "wraps around" (ie she can't scroll back to "a" once she's gotten to the end). I guess this means we tape too much (318 shows at last count that we haven't yet gotten to watch), but...

This is obviously just a "nice to have," so feel free to ignore it.

Thanks again for a great interface!

After closing the auto pop-up that appears after inserting a removable drive, you can browse that drive again by going to Media Center -> Browse Media Files. From there, you can browse any drive you have access to, not just the removable drive.

Sorry, I'm new and hence, stupid!...now that that is out of the way The wiki on the first page seems down...get a broken python script when I use the linky. In setting this up, do I need to replace the STV on both my server (only used to record shows, never with UI) and the clients...or just the clients? If I set up commercial skip on the clients, do I need to do something on the server? Lastly, how does using this STV affect extenders since I am anxious to get the HD externder when released!

thanks

Not stupid, just ignorant...

There should be some good instructions for setting this up on the first post of this thread. You should only need to replace the STV on the clients. What do you plan to use for commercial skip? It is mainly independent of the STV, other than the STV seeing the TXT or EDL comskip file. If you are using clients with comskip, then you need to make sure that the clients can see the comskip file. In other words, look a few posts back, and you'll see what I mean. Post #3451, to be exact.

The STV works great on current SD extenders, once you turn off sounds and animations (the sounds appear on the server, instead of the MVP, and the animations are really slow, if enabled). Comskip works out of the box (if you have it working on the server/clients), since the MVP doesn't really require any special file access configuration.

Isolating DVDs from other imported videos?

This may be a stupid or previously answered question-- for that I apologize.

I've got a large selection of my DVD collection ripped to various hard drives. I've imported them into Sage and am using DVD profiler(very cool BTW). I haven't messed with it much, mainly because I'd rather not screw up the DVD stuff, but I'd like a way to keep these DVDs separated from other miscellaneous videos, such as short clips from my digital camera, and downloaded clips off the internet and such. Is there a way to do this currently?

Would it be possible to move imported DVDs from the videos section to the DVD option on the menu? It could be setup similar to My TV menu where a click brings into DVD menu which contains online library of DVDs and one of the options in the section is to load DVD in drive.

Just a thought.

-Bryan

Hi Bryan,

There are a couple of ways you can do this. I think the best way is to assign your videos to custom groups and use the group view. When you enter the group, you can still have the videos organized by genre. Another approach would be to assign custom genres to your videos and just use the genre view. HTH

Aloha,
Mike

Maybe I'm missing something, but I was wondering if support had been added to not just compress, but convert to iPod friendly formats.

Also, any chance you could add the auto-disable comskip as a Series setting instead of just for a particular recorded show.

LOL. I like watching them, but they come on too often! My wife likes me to watch them when she is trying to go to sleep, well, that or MacGyver (somehow the voice of him narrating his actions, puts her to sleep).

I was really surprised how many episodes they put out of that show. I figured when I turned it on to record, that I'd be lucky getting a couple a week, especially after all the episodes I have watched.

I don't know much about iPod formats, but SageMC uses the Sage core compression engine and is able to use all formats that are supported by the default STV

To be honest, this was one of the features that drew my attention from the default STV to SageMC - I couldn't stand the wrapping lists in the default STV But yeah, scrolling back 318 shows must be pretty annoying too
