MVP not showing a mapped network drive
I'm running a trial version, V5.0
I have Sage running fine on the PC/Server end. I can see the video files in my mapped network share V:\ (linux server) But on the MVP, when I select: browse media files > play media files, only the drives local to the PC show up. Is there a setting I missed somewhere. Thanks in advance Steve |

Are you running in service mode? If so, the service won't be able to see mapped drives. The MVP uses the SageTV server for file access, so if you are using service mode, you won't see the mapped drive letters while browsing.
When you say that you can see the files in the SageTV UI on the PC, do you mean they are import libraries, or do you mean you can browse to them? - Andy

When I start up Sage to check the settings, it made me go through the setup menus again.
And now the MVP can see the shared network folder which contains my video files. Problem solved. Thanks Steve |

Steve,
I have a the same situation. I have a Windows Sage Server, a Linux Samba Server and MVP. My music files are stored on the Linux box and mapped to drive V: on the Sage TV. I can't get MVP to see the Mapped drive. I simply want to be able to browse to the Music drive from MVM and play the media through MVP. How did you do it? Please walk me through the steps you took. I sent you a PM also (hope you don't mind) just in case you don't see this thread again since you seem to have solved your problem and may not look back. |
