Gigabyte's i-RAM: Affordable Solid State Storage
I came across this new piece of hardware the other day and thought I would share it with everyone.
Check this out! Gigabyte's i-RAM This would be a great idea for a diskless client setup if you happend to have a few sticks of unused RAM laying around. Not to mention it is the fastest "HDD" around. Limited to only 4GB of space, it wouldn't be suited for much of anything else. The idea is just amazing and so are the benchmarks. I think a "lite" install of windows with SageTVClient could be possible. Anyway, just thought I'd share. |

Yeah, this has mentioned here before. I've heard it mentioned that they were planning another revision that would support more ram and SATA2, but I've not heard any news about it since.

seem its good for a silent PC since it doesn't offer that much performance over a WD Raptor. And the 4G limitation could be problematic. But as flashbacck said, SATA300 and more memory would make it more attractive. But if you want a silent HTPC, this would definitely help.
