USB-UIRT fights with my TV

Hello - I have my Sage setup working really well. But, on my SageClients I have my remote setup to communicate with the USB-UIRT. The only thing I have programmed my TV to respond to are Power on/off (which also puts sage to sleep) and also Vol up/dn and mute. Everything else the computer responds to. The problem I'm finding is I have to hold down the power on/off or the Vol up/dn buttons for several seconds for the tv to respond to them. It's as if the TV is not getting the IR codes or has trouble reading them because the USB-UIRT is stealing the signal and the TV is having a hard time getting it also. I'm wondering if maybe the USB-UIRT is sending something back out that is causing interference. Is there something I need to do to disable the USB-UIRT from sending its own signal out which might be interfering with the TV?

Any suggestions or is anyone else having this problem? I'm not sure if it would help if I put the USB-UIRT closer or further from the TV IR or if there is something else I need to do.
