SageTv V5 and Showanalyzer..

Hi All,

After upgrading my SageTv from V4 > V5, is my commercials not marked anymore in the timeline.
I am using the ShowAnalyzer tool and it has been working as a dream with V4.0 and Malores STV.

Do I have to change some settings somewhere in the new V5 SageTV?

Thanks in advance:
Michael Mondrup

Yep, when you upgrade it goes back to using the newest stock stv. You have to reimport all of your plugins.

I'm having the same problem, SageTV seems to "lose" the comskip stvi. I've had to re-import it several times. Anyone else notice this ?

Not really a problem and Sage does not actually lose it. When performing an upgrade to a later Sage version, the "base" STV is also updated or at least refreshed if containing no modifications. On initial startup after an update, Sage always reverts back to the "stock" STV.

As well it should particulary if an update to the "base" STV has occurred. So, part of the upgrade process requires that the STV imports be reinstalled to the new STV so all is up-to-date and upgraded. The Sage installer can not automate this process.

I use two different STV imports that are added to the "stock" STV. Before re-importing after an udate/upgrade of Sage, I delete the old SageTV3-1.xml and SageTV3-2.xml otherwise the new STVi's will increment to 3 & 4 and with the next update, 5 & 6, and so forth. All the previous iterations are junk anyway.

If Sage is reverting back to "sotck" STV that does not involve an update, then that is something else again. I've never had Sage fall back to "stock". The STV that Sage starts up with is defined in the "sage.properties" file.

Yes, I understand that and I import the stvi after any upgrade. However, in this case, the stvi is randomly "lost" at other times having nothing to do with any upgrade, changes, whatever. Now, the comskip stvi is the only one being used, is it possible it's a problem with the stvi and not SageTV ?
