Yes, my screen looks identical to the one referenced above (but with a better theme ). I have tried every combination of starting stopping loading unloading and importing but always get the same screen when I go into configuration. I turned debugging on and imported MT in SageMC base then navigated to the config screen. Hopefully something stands out...

You have an old version of df_sageutils.jar in your JARs directory. Extract the one which comes with MT for SageMC, restart Sage, and repeat the import into a base SageMC STV.

That did it. I don't know how I still had the old file but I feel like this right now.
Is there any way I could have diagnosed this from the debug file for future reference?

Dirk/Morgan thanks for the help.

Morgan/Appery thanks for all the work on a great import.

This is what I'm talking about:

Was this resolved with anything other than just a reinstall? I have tried over and over, and can not make it show correctly! Using 6.0.14, MC 6.3.0 (full install, dynamic menus) and Morgan's 0.60b download.

Kirby,

Could you set debug_logging=TRUE in your properties file and post the log file after you import it again.

Here you go

I looked at it, and there are some errors that looks like I am missing a JAR file...the log is from a clean startup of the 6.3.0 xml, then imported your 0.60b, navigated to the movie times screen, options (where it was garbled like the pic) and then shutdown.

Wait a second, for whatever reason, the 2 JAR's in your import didnt install. Going to copy them in right now.

Ouch, yes. You either are missing or have an old df_sageutils.jar file in your JARs folder. If you extract the attachment to the first post of my thread here, it should install or overwrite the correct file for installation. The re-import the file.

Yep, that fixed it. Dont know why it didnt unpack, but the df_sageutils.jar was missing completely. Its working now.

Now to the task of figuring out how to make it work on my client machine...

I finally got this all working on my server and clients! Yippie!!!!

I used aperry's info here:

  1. Install MovieTimes on your server machine into C:\MovieTimes.
  2. Create a share on your server machine pointing at C:\MovieTimes, and call it MovieTimes.
  3. On your server machine, and on your client machine, map the M:\ drive to the MovieTimes share on the server (\\server\MovieTimes).
  4. Inside of Sage when you look for your configuration file, use the one in the M:\ share you just created.
  5. It should prompt you to load the locations file (if not navigate to where you would set that). Be sure you set it to use the locations.xml file in M:\.
  6. Be sure to point your MTSA executable to the one in the M:\ directory as well.
  7. Since the directory browser is not working all that well right now, you should exit Sage at this time and go in and edit your config.xml file and change any remaining "C:\MovieTimes\" to "M:\".

Once you have this all done, if it still doesn't work, please repost your config.xml and locations.xml file after trying the above and I'll see if there is anything else I notice.
But in addition to that, I did the same type of drive mapping for the c:\mtsa directory. Mapped it to "N:\" on server and clients, and now trailers playback perfectly. I havent had time to try it over a placeshifter client, but I would imagine this setup would work well with that as well.

Glad to hear it is all working for you.

I don't even map it to a drive letter but just specify it with the UNC name everywhere that it is used.

I don't have my MVP hooked up but would like to hear that the trailers work there as well.

Just fired up my placeshifter at work here, and trailers and everything worked perfectly! Crappy quality playing an HD trailer over a 256kbit uplink, but thats to be expected. I would imagine an MVP would work well also.

I haven't really checked this thread regularly in a while. Have I missed a really big update or something really obvious? Since day 1, I haven never been able to use MovieTimes from work (through Internet). I just get, "Error: Unknown Internal Screen "MovieTimes Main". Plus, at least my version of MovieTimes, it HAS to use a media files (trailers, posters) local to the SageTV server (or LAN).

Do you have VPNed or SSH'ed to your machine at home from work?

just a normal placeshifter connection over the internet here. Running Sage 6.0.14, SageMC 6.3.0, and Morgan's 0.60b import, all using the new Dynamic menu that is now default in MC. I simply installed it all on my server, then loaded the MC xml inside the placeshifter client, and its all working (except for music playback, but thats another issue). morgan's 0.60b import makes use of the internal SageTVPlayer (which is mplayer in disguise).

Ohhhh... okay, that explains it. I knew that "MovieTimes Movie Listings Import v0.57 Beta" doesnt support SageTV's internal media player. So, the only way to do this is with SageMC version of this addon. Thanks for explaining! I guess it wouldn't help much in my case to import the movietimes stvi on my placeshifter client at work.

MTSA and Trailer Downloads

I'm wondering if I have MTSA scheduled to do downloads every night then will it download trailers that are already downloaded or will it skip those so as to save time?

Thanks,
Mike

AFAIK, it skips them.

Full frame rate full res 1080p trailers!!!

I just installed the latest Cyberlink PowerDVD software for it's H.264/AVC Decoder (with hardware accelleration enabled). Mplayer plays all the 1080p trailers smoothly.

Without Cyberlink PowerDVD, videos were unplayable with no more than half of the correct frame rate. WOW! Eragon.mov looks pretty nice

You just installed the software? Didnt set it up inside Sage in any way? What framerates were you getting before it? I had to completely reinstall my client a while ago, and havent installed any secondary software for fear of running into the issues I had before. But I did notice that the 1080p trailers seem to be not as nice before and I am pretty sure I had cyberlink installed before.

I just installed Cyberlink PowerDVD. I registered it. I did not have to change anything in sage. The only thing I did was tell movietimes to download 1080p movies instead of 720p. A way to make sure that Cyberlink is able to do this, just drag and drop the 1080p clip straight into Cyberlink. If that works, then you can get movietimes to do it too.

Before getting help from PowerDVD, my system was trying to render 1080p video using software only; which puts an unreasonable amount of strain on the CPU. Enabling hardware accelleration lets your display adapater (in my case, Nvidia 6600GT) do most of the work. Without hardware accelleration, 1080p video was playing at 10fps-15fps at best and would get stuck when there was a lot of fast movement. Now, everything plays smoothly at full 1080p detail.

This type of hardware assistance is also necessary for Blue Ray/HD-DVD; which is why PowerDVD also supports Blue Ray and HD-DVD discs.
